Paul Merson shares his thoughts on the game between West Brom and Everton at the Hawthorns.

Paul Merson gives his view on Everton's first win of the season over West Brom at The Hawthorns.

The Baggies started strongly in their first home game of the 2016/17 season and Gareth McAuley headed them into the lead in the ninth minute.

Ronald Koeman was unimpressed with his side's first-half performance and decided to make a rare substitution before the break, bringing off James McCarthy and introducing striker Romelu Lukaku which Merson identified as his moment of the match.

The Belgium international made a big attacking impact and Everton were back level on the stroke of half-time as Kevin Mirallas played some great one-touch football with Gareth Barry and Leighton Baines before slotting past Ben Foster.

Bang on the 60th minute, it was Barry who sealed the win for the Toffees, heading home from a Mirallas corner at the back post for his first goal since January 2014.
