Football Podcast

Liverpool's destruction of Arsenal, the relegation scrap and Moyes' Man Utd future are all discussed.

Sky Sports News Radio's Ben Ransom is joined in the studio by TEAMtalk's James Marshment and Football 365's Matt Stanger as they pick the bones out of another fascinating weekend of Premier League football. You can listen to the Podcast via Soundcloud below or access it via iTunes. Liverpool in the mix? The experts start by discussing Liverpool's crushing 5-1 win over Arsenal, with James calling the Reds' display their best in the league for 25 years and explaining why they could still have a say in this year's title race. Matt argues their lack of consistency will rob them off a title pursuit and has some sympathy for Arsenal, who were far from their best at Anfield. Warning, warning, danger, Hazard! The trio purr over the form of Chelsea star Eden Hazard, with James naming him as one of six Player of the Year nominees if the vote was taken now - but who are his other five? Matt, who was in attendance at Stamford Bridge, is full of praise for another Chelsea player, though, and he explains why it is this other man's displays who could be key to the Blues landing the title. United struggles continue Next up for the panel are the ongoing struggles of defending Premier League champions Manchester United, with Matt questioning David Moyes' future following their defending and transfer window policy. James discusses what the exit of Nemanja Vidic will have on the defence and which players will follow suit and join him in quitting Old Trafford. Relegation matters Ben is highly critical of current bottom three West Bromwich Albion, Cardiff City and Fulham and explains why their decision to sack managers could drastically backfire on them. Matt explains why he is especially bemused by the decision to appoint Pepe Mel at The Hawthorns and lays into the West Brom hierarchy for appointing a manager with a less-than-impressive track record. The trio also discuss why Saturday's home defeat by Hull City could seriously come back to bite Sunderland on the behind, while Matt also feels Norwich City could easily suffer demotion.
