Leonel Vangioni has been heavily linked with a move to Southampton, but says he has no intention of leaving River Plate.

Reports have claimed that new St Mary’s boss Ronald Koeman has turned his attention to the South American market in his pursuit of fresh faces.

Vangioni, a man with three senior caps for Argentina to his name, is among those to have reportedly caught the Dutchman’s eye and that has sparked talk of an offer.

However, Vangioni is happy where he is and will continue to ignore the rumours regarding his future until a formal approach has been made.

The 27-year-old midfielder told TyC Sports: “I am very comfortable at River, so my mind is only focused on my current team.

“If something really important arrives I will have to analyse it, but for now I am only thinking about River.

“I am only thinking about the work that we are doing and all of the competitions we will be a part of this year.”
