Harry Redknapp felt his QPR side deserved at least a point against Stoke after they lost 3-1 at the Britannia Stadium.
Jonathan Walters scored twice in the first half and sealed a hat-trick in the second minute of injury time to condemn QPR to their 11th consecutive away defeat of the season.
Niko Kranjcar pulled one back before the break and Redknapp's side had opportunities to level in the second half when Joey Barton's shot bounced off the underside of the bar and Eduardo Vargus saw his volley pushed out by Asmir Begovic, leaving the QPR manager frustrated at full-time.
He told Sky Sports: "In the second half it was one-way traffic. We came in at 2-1 at half-time and I think we battered them in the second half.
"We hit the underside of the bar, beat the keeper all hands up and just couldn’t get the goal. We missed some great opportunities, and the keepers made some great saves.
"Then we’re pushing everyone up, they get a free kick, I’ve left everyone up the pitch to try and get one last attack and then they go and score in the last second of the game.
"And then all of a sudden it’s 3-1, like you’ve been well beaten. But anyone that was here, that saw the game, or that knows anything about football will tell you that is not the case."
He added: "Stoke’s were poor goals and for 22 minutes I’m thinking, 'they haven’t started yet' and I’m thinking the crowd was on them a bit. And I’m thinking, 'we’ve got a good chance' here and then we lose possession of a ball under no pressure and we give the ball away twice and suddenly we’re 2-0 down.
"Then 2-1 and as I said we really camped in their half. I couldn’t have asked for more in the second half. They were excellent; we just couldn’t get the goal."
The result leaves QPR one point from safety in 19th place, while Stoke rose to ninth.
