Wayne Rooney. Sergio Aguero. Two of the most prolific and most feared strikers to have set foot on a pitch in the Premier League era.

Between them, they boast more than 250 Premier League goals, and have collected 19 major honours during their professional careers.

The question is, though, who would you rather lead your club's attacking line if you had the choice?

Ahead of this weekend's Manchester derby, we've asked former Manchester City midfielder Dietmar Hamann, and former Manchester United striker Dwight Yorke, who they would choose if they had the choice.

Dietmar Hamann

Rooney or Aguero? Aguero has done ever so well since he came to the Premier League. He's a top-class centre forward. He's probably in the top five or six centre forwards in the world.

He played a vital part with that last-minute goal against QPR which won City the first of two titles in three seasons.

We all know what Rooney is capable of; he’s a very talented player. I'd have Aguero over Rooney, though, but I have to say, at the moment, Rooney is in far better form than Aguero.

Dwight Yorke

Rooney or Aguero? Now that's a difficult question. The reason why it's difficult is because both players are fantastic players.

Dietmar Hamann thinks former club Manchester City aren't in a great place psychologically

On current form, I'd go with Rooney at this point in time. He's been the talisman at Manchester United for a number of years.

Rooney has got his mojo back, so to speak,. He's playing in a position for both club and country which he loves, and he's scoring goals.

So right now, at this moment in time, as much as I love Aguero, I’ll have to go for Rooney.
