All the latest Man Utd transfer news and rumours from across the British and European press on Wednesday, July 26.

Manchester United are edging closer to the signing of Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic, according to the Daily Star.

Fellow suitors Juventus have reportedly switched their attention to Pairs Saint-Germain midfielder Blaise Matuidi, leaving United with a clear path to bring the Serb to Old Trafford.

Could Matic be the only further incoming at United this summer? Jose Mourinho has revealed he wants to sign a winger and a midfielder this summer but, given the current climate, the Portuguese has conceded he may only be able to sign one.

Nemanja Matic says this season's title race is more difficult than Chelsea's 2014-15 win

"If my club is not able to do two players and is able to do just one, I will accept that as a consequence of the market now," Mourinho is quoted by the Daily Mail.

Renato Sanches has opened the door to a move away from Bayern Munich, reports the Daily Mirror.

The Portugal international, heavily linked with United before moving to Bayern, has found opportunities limited under Carlo Ancelotti and is weighing up his future at the Allianz Arena.

"I'm not satisfied," Sanches is quoted by SportBild. "Of course I would like to play more. This is why I want to join a club where I could get more playing time.

"Milan is an interesting option. If the opportunity arises and the clubs can agree, I would like to see them."

Inter Milan head coach Luciano Spalletti wants to keep Manchester United target Ivan Perisic, but has suggested he will be sold for the right price.

"Sure there are rumours but we want to keep Perisic," said Spalletti. "He's a very important player for the team. We are counting on him to start the new season.

"But if somebody comes in with a very difficult offer to reject then we will consider that, but of course we need to find a valid alternative for Perisic as well."

The Daily Express, meanwhile, claim Inter are already preparing for life after Perisic and have Lazio midfielder Keita Balde as a replacement.
