BROWN MAY MISS GREEK DATE

WES BROWN, who has been ruled out of Manchester United's trip to Deportivo La Coruna, has emerged as a major injury doubt for England`s upcoming World Cup qualifier with Greece.

The young defender tweaked a hamstring against Newcastle last week, and it has failed to respond to treatment and he may miss the crunch Group Nine encounter on October 6.

Red Devils boss Sir Alex Ferguson said: "Wes first got the injury at the Newcastle game ten days ago and it felt tight against Lille last Tuesday.

"It is not a tear but will keep him out of our game on Saturday and he will be doubtful for the England match as well."

The news is a further blow to manager Sven Goran Eriksson, who has seen talismanic striker Michael Owen ruled out with a similar injury and is also waiting for a progress report on Sol Campbell.
