Fergie worried by Ronaldo's boots

SIR ALEX FERGUSON has blamed Cristiano Ronaldo's less than inspiring full debut, on the type of boots he was wearing.

After impressing as a substitute against Bolton and Newcastle, the Portuguese star was handed his full debut against Wolves on Wednesday.

Ronaldo failed to sparkle as he had done previously, and Ferguson thinks his footwear was responsible.

"I just felt that his footing wasn't right," said Ferguson.

"He wore his blades and I think that studs are better, but those were the only boots he had, so we can sort that out.

"He's only 18 and for a boy of 18 he handled everything ever so well so far and it's just a matter of being patient."

Brazilian Kleberson was also handed his debut against Wolves and Ferguson added: "He's finding his way.

"Obviously the language barrier is a bit of a problem, communication on the pitch and he's quiet because he's not conversing in English. But he's picking it up, he is having lessons every day and is improving."
