Malouda confirms Utd interest

Florent Malouda has confirmed Man Utd made a move for him in the summer.

Skysports.com revealed in April that Malouda was being watched by United and now the player admits they did make a move for him.

The 25-year-old, who made his France debut last year, has stated that he is not yet ready to move to another country.

"There was an interest from Manchester United," Malouda told L'Equipe.

"But my option at the moment is not to favour a foreign move - it is not the right moment."

Malouda stated that he does intend to review his situation.

"If this season I can prove on the pitch that I am able to join those great clubs, and if with Lyon it doesn't go smoothly, we will see.

"At the moment I don't want to be disturbed with that. I will take stock after the first round of Champions League.

"If I have choices to make, I will make them in time.

"If I am not happy anymore at Lyon, I will tell you.

"It is up to the club to show gratitude to a player or not, but I hope to get it - if not I will look for gratitude somewhere else.

"At a certain time, the officials will have to talk about my status at the club."
