Ole: Ronaldo is unstoppable

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is the latest to heap plaudits on Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has become the latest Manchester United player to heap plaudits on his team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo, following the Portuguese's virtuoso display against Roma.

Rarely has Old Trafford been treated to such a display of attacking ferocity as that which presented itself on Tuesday evening, with United irrepressible in putting Roma to the sword 7-1.

At the epicentre of much of United's best work in the final third was, almost inevitably, Ronaldo and having broken his UEFA Champions League duck with a well taken brace, Solskjaer believes his team-mate could hold the key to United's continued success in the competition.

The veteran Norwegian, who was handed a late cameo role as a second half substitute, has also spoken of how the atmosphere in Manchester was a major factor behind the club's majestic display.

"A fantastic night," exclaimed Solskjaer to Aftonbladet. "The whole town had a special aura, we were destined to win.

"The whole team did fantastic and when Ronaldo is in the form he is in, he is impossible to play against."

Solskjaer also had time to reserve special praise for a former team-mate, with fellow Scandinavian Henrik Larsson - who enjoyed a brief and productive display at United earlier in the season - the subject of his appreciation.

"He was a great addition to our squad," he added. "It was nice to play with him and to get to know him.

"We will try to win as much as possible for him."
