Csaba Laszlo says Man United, Chelsea and Fulham have all shown an interest in Christophe Berra.

Boss feels in-demand defender should remain at Hearts

Hearts manager Csaba Laszlo has claimed Manchester United, Chelsea and Fulham have all shown an interest in defender Christophe Berra. The Jambos skipper was subject of an approach from Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers in the summer, but a move failed to materialise. Berra, 23, has insisted he is happy at Tynecastle, despite the squad not being paid for the second time this season last Friday. And Laszlo is hopeful he will keep hold of the centre-back's signature after revealing interest from England's top flight. He told www.origo.hu: "Not only Fulham, but Chelsea and Manchester United have also shown an interest in Christophe Berra. "But he's very young and I would recommend him to stay here for one or two years as he could get into the Scottish national side with Hearts. "If he was only a substitute with a bigger team then that may be a tougher task. He's still not a complete footballer."
