Midfielder confident United are hitting form at the right time

Darren Fletcher remains confident that Manchester United can overhaul Chelsea and win a record fourth Premier League title in a row. The holders' dreams of taking top spot again appeared to be over earlier in the month after a defeat at home by Chelsea was followed by a scoreless draw at Blackburn Rovers. However, after United clinched a last-gasp derby win over Manchester City and their title rivals lost at Tottenham Hotspur, the gap is down to one point with two games remaining. Fletcher accepts United are relying on other teams to do them a favour, with Chelsea playing Liverpool on Sunday before the Red Devils tackle Sunderland. Following recent late wins over City and Spurs, though, Fletcher feels United are hitting form at the right time and is staying upbeat about being crowned champions.

Thrive on pressure

"I really do," said Fletcher, when asked if United can still win the title. "We are relying on a favour from another team, which is not the best position to be in, but we are coming into form. "We had that week where things didn't go well, against Blackburn and Bayern, and there was a real low in the squad. "But we had to pick ourselves up. There was a conscious effort around the place not to feel sorry for ourselves. We couldn't afford to. "We needed to put some pressure on Chelsea, which is what we have done. "You learn to thrive on pressure when you play for a massive club like Manchester United. "It is there in every game in every season. You learn how to deal with it and know what to expect when it comes. "You learn not to get desperate and to keep playing the way you are taught to play."
