Talented teenager sees no reason to leave his homeland
Teenage striker Lenny Nangis has revealed that he snubbed interest from the likes of Manchester United in favour of signing a new deal at Caen.
The 17-year-old is considered to be one of the brightest prospects in European football and has drawn admiring glances from a number of top clubs this summer.
Reigning Premier League champions United are among those to have cast an eye over Nangis' undoubted potential.
The youngster claims to be here where he is, though, and believes his ongoing development will be better served in France at a club that can offer him a route to first-team football.
Fresh from committing his future to Caen until 2014, Nangis told
skysports.com: "I was flattered by the interest shown in me by all of those big teams including Manchester United, a team I really like, but it is better for me to learn my football here.
Learning
"I know this environment and Caen have been good to me.
"Manchester United, or another big team, would have been a big step up for me at this moment.
"I still need to finish my learning process. I am only 17 years old and I am in no hurry to go abroad.
"I think after three years in French football I will be ready to move on, but at the moment the best place for me is Caen."
