Contracts with DHL & Beeline Vietnam drawn

Manchester United have announced the agreement of two new and lucrative sponsorship deals that they hope will increase their wealth over the coming years. A four-year deal has been agreed with express and logistics company DHL, while with Vietnam's mobile telecoms giants Beeline a three-year contract has been signed. United made the announcement on Monday afternoon and gave insight into the implications of the new deals.

DHL agreement

"The new four-year-agreement sees the DHL logo included on the club's training kit worn by all first, reserve and youth team players during domestic competitions and builds on DHL's relationship behind the scenes at the club," read a statement on the club's official website. "DHL has been the club's Official Logistics Partner for a year and played a key role supporting United's pre-season tour of the United States, and will continue to work hard to help deliver success on and off the pitch." The club's chief executive David Gill described the contract as ground-breaking and enthused: "This deal breaks new ground in the English game. "We are delighted that DHL has chosen to pioneer training kit sponsorship with the club. Their global presence and international standing are a perfect fit for the world's most popular football club."
Venturing into Vietnam
United are also confident that their three-year partnership with Beeline will help endear themselves further to their fans in Vietnam. "The deal will give the club's estimated 16 million fans in Vietnam a chance to see all the goals scored by the Reds, as well as exclusive interviews, news and behind-the-scenes access - bringing them closer to Old Trafford than ever before," the club stated. United's commercial director Richard Arnold added: "Beeline is the right partner for us in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia - an ambitious young organisation which has already made a big impact locally in a short space of time. "We know that this partnership will bring great benefits to both partners. We're looking forward to breaking new ground with Beeline." Michael Cluzel, Head of Indochina Cluster of VimpelCom Ltd. and CEO of Beeline Vietnam (GTEL - Mobile), stated: "Football is the number one sport in Vietnam, and Manchester United has always been one of the most widely supported football teams in the world and Vietnam is no exception."
