Man Utd midfielder Darren Fletcher will be back in the squad for Sunday's game against Premier League rivals Arsenal.
Ferguson says midfielder is looking 'terrific' after stomach virus
Manchester United midfielder Darren Fletcher will be back in the squad for Sunday's game against Premier League rivals Arsenal.
Fletcher has not featured so far this season as the Scotland captain continues to recover from the stomach virus which saw him miss most of the closing two months of last term.
He sat out United's pre-season trip to the United States after suffering a relapse, but has been building up his fitness in training and for the reserves.
The 27-year-old is now in contention to return to the first-team fold when the champions welcome Arsenal to Old Trafford.
Terrible time
"Fletcher is in the squad," said United boss Sir Alex Ferguson. "He is back now.
"He's had a terrible time but now he's looking terrific and he'll be in the squad for Sunday."
Ferguson also revealed that defender Rio Ferdinand was back in training following a hamstring injury and that winger Antonio Valencia was training well after an ankle injury.
Captain Nemanja Vidic is expected to be out for another month with a calf problem, but Ferguson has a selection dilemma up front after Javier Hernandez returned from a spell out with concussion in the win over Tottenham.
The Red Devils chief added: "Chicharito came back on Monday which gives me a tremendous problem for picking a side but that's the kind of problem we want."
