United scouts take in Schalke's defeat by Borussia Dortmund
Schalke full-back Christian Fuchs is attracting interest from across Europe, with Manchester United scouts taking in Saturday's Ruhr derby.
Fuchs only joined Schalke in the summer on a four-year contract from Bochum after spending last season on loan at Mainz.
The Austria international has been an impressive performer for the Bundesliga club this term and has been linked with several European clubs.
Italian duo Juventus and Parma have been keeping tabs on the left-back, while ambitious Spanish side Malaga are also admirers of the 25-year-old.
Fuchs cost Schalke a fee close to £4million and he played the full 90 minutes of Schalke's 2-0 defeat at rivals Borussia Dortmund.
His team-mate Klaas-Jan Huntelaar was also recently linked with a move to the Premier League champions and started against Dortmund, who brought Shinji Kagawa - the Japanese midfielder and also linked with the Red Devils in the past - off the bench.
United scouts have also been watching Sporting Lisbon striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel regularly in recent weeks after the Netherlands international impressed since moving to Portugal in the summer.
