We’re asking our Soccer Saturday pundits to pick the strongest XIs of the likely title-challengers – and want to know what you think of their selections!

Here’s how Matt Le Tissier reckons Louis van Gaal should set his team up in his first season once everyone is fit - although he says there's lots of room for improvement before the transfer window closes...

Matt's XI (3-5-2): De Gea; Jones, Evans, Smalling; Valencia, Herrera, Fletcher, Mata, Shaw; Rooney, Van Persie.

Matt has opted for the 3-5-2 formation that Van Gaal has tried out in pre-season and used successfully with the Netherlands during the World Cup this summer. That means Phil Jones, Chris Smalling and Jonny Evans could all be set to start following the departures of Nemanja Vidic, Rio Ferdinand and Patrice Evra this summer. Matt believes that is the area that the Dutchman MUST strengthen before the transfer window closes. However, he does think the team will improve this season.

New signing Luke Shaw would be deployed as a wing-back on the left with Antonio Valencia occupying a similar berth on the right. Fellow new signing Ander Herrera would also be a regular starter according to Matt - with Darren Fletcher given the nod alongside him. Juan Mata, Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie would be the main threats going forward with no space in Matt's team for Danny Welbeck, Ashley Young, Michael Carrick, Javier Hernandez, Nani, Tom Cleverley, Shinji Kagawa or Adnan Januzaj.
