Crespo close to Milan deal?

Milan and Chelsea are due to discuss Hernan Crespo's future next week.

Hernan Crespo's situation should become a lot clearer by the end of next week, according to reports in Italy.

The Argentine international endured a tough time at Chelsea, only managing to score ten times for the club.

However, his loan move to Milan has revived his career and now Crespo is desperate to prolong his stay at San Siro.

Milan also want to sort out a permanent deal, but recent performances in the UEFA Champions League - including two goals to knock Manchester United out of the competition - may well have caught the attention of Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho.

Chelsea, despite splashing out £24 million on Didier Drogba, have still struggled to find a regular goalscoring striker and Mourinho might see Crespo as the answer.

However, Milan will meet with Chelsea next week to discuss the possibility of signing Crespo on a permanent three-year deal.
