League One side Oldham Athletic have completed the loan capture of Chelsea midfielder Anthony Grant. The promising 18-year-old, nicknamed 'The Judge', is an England Under-19 international and has already made his Premiership debut, having been used in Chelsea's 3-1 win over Manchester United in May.
Jose Mourinho has given the move his blessing, with Grant now eager to help bolster Oldham's promotion push over the next month.
Grant has spoken of his excitement at moving to Boundary Park, although the starlet is well aware that he will have to first earn the right to play.
"It is a good move for me. I spoke with Mr Mourinho and he told me that he thought it would be a good idea for me to go on loan and get some more experience with another club,'' Grant told the stellargroup.co.uk.
"I am going to have to prove myself to the Oldham manager and the players and that will be a big incentive for me.
''As will helping the team in their bid for promotion. They are doing well and hopefully I can help them even further."
Meanwhile, Oldham have rejected Hibernian's attempt to take Chris Killen to Edinburgh in a loan deal.
