Terry: Jose read riot act
John Terry has revealed that manager Jose Mourinho read the riot act to his team.
Chelsea skipper John Terry has revealed that manager Jose Mourinho read the riot act to his team at half time during the 2-1 win at West Bromwich Albion.
The Blues were late out after the interval, which angered Baggies boss Bryan Robson, and were reduced to ten men when Arjen Robben was sent off for the second time this season.
Terry felt the Dutchman should only have received a yellow card and expects Didier Drogba to be fit for Tuesday's trip to Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League, despite writhing in apparent agony on the ground at one stage of the second half.
"I'm very relieved," he told Sky Sports. "Especially with the way we played in the first half. It wasn't good, the tempo wasn't good.
"We came out for the second half and upped the tempo, upped our game and got the result.
"We had a long team-talk. William [Gallas] is always the last out and we were waiting for him. We got a telling off at half time, a kick up the backside, which is exactly what we needed.
"He [Mourinho] was not happy at all."
The England stopper was disappointed that Robben was shown a red card.
"The ref was saying it's a two-footed tackle," he said. "It's not a two-footed tackle and he didn't touch the man at all.
"There were a couple of challenges earlier on, but that's part of the game. The main thing is we came away with three points today. I thought it was only a yellow.
"I didn't see it [the touchline bust-up between Robson and Mourinho]. Didi [Drogba] got a bang on the knee but, hopefully, he'll be okay for Tuesday.
"We knew it was going to be tough, but these are the places you need to come to pick up three points and take a step closer to winning The Premiership.
"The fans were fantastic today, signing Peter Osgood's name and I'd like to dedicate that win to him. He was a great player and a great man as well. We dedicate that win to Peter Osgood.
"It's going to be a very tough game on Tuesday, but it's a confidence boost coming here. We go there full of confidence and going for the win."
