German star admits he still has ambitions

Chelsea midfielder Michael Ballack insists he has never thought about ending his football career. The 33-year-old Germany international has had a professional career spanning 14 years, which has seen him play for the likes of Kaiserslautern, Bayer Leverkusen, Bayern Munich and now the Blues. Ballack, who is closing in on 100 caps for his country, believes he can still cut it for the next couple of years at Stamford Bridge. "I think I can still play the two coming years at the best level for Chelsea," he told SID. "I've never even considered ending my career whether it be for club our country. I still have great sporting ambitions." Ballack has started 14 games in the Premier League under Carlo Ancelotti so far this season and has found the back of the net three times. He is expected to have an increasingly important role in January as fellow midfielders Michael Essien and John Obi Mikel depart for the African Cup of Nations.
