Blues boss says there's no margin for error against Wigan

Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti has appealed to his players to hold their nerve against Wigan. Victory over the Latics at Stamford Bridge would seal the title for Chelsea in the Italian's first season in charge. Anything less than that would leave the door wide open for defending champions Manchester United, who entertain Stoke on Sunday. Ancelotti admits his side are in a good position as far as the title race is concerned but his message to the players is a straight forward one - stay focused.

Eye on the prize

Ancelotti has urged his squad to go into Sunday's tie with as much intent as they have demonstrated in their preceding matches. "To be champions, we have to play as we played against Stoke and against Liverpool," said the Blues boss. "We have to maintain the same confidence in our play, the same determination, because nothing is decided. We have to pay a lot of attention. There are no more games. If we miss our chance now, there is no chance to recover. "We are in a very good situation. We wanted to arrive at the end of the season with more points. We have one more, but we can decide our own destiny at our home ground, Stamford Bridge, and that is a good thing. "We have to play one more game, though, and nothing is decided yet. But we have a great opportunity and a great possibility because the team is fit, in good condition and has fantastic motivation for this game."
Ready
Ancelotti will be hoping for a better outcome than the reverse fixture which finished 3-1 to Wigan at the DW Stadium back in September. The Latics are a much stronger force at home than on away soil though, but the Blues boss says it matters not and has urged his side to concentrate until the job is done. "We have to be ready, but we have to play for 90 minutes," he said. "We come to play this game, to try our best. "They have a very good team and beat us earlier in the season, so we have to pay attention." He added: "I'm working for this club and want to do my best for this club. "For sure, if we win, I'll be very happy because it would mean we did, together, a very good job. But personally, I will be happy, that's all. Normal."
