Midfielder says he is very happy at Stamford Bridge
Ramires says he is enjoying life at Chelsea as his second season in English football nears its climax with an FA Cup final and a potential UEFA Champions League final.
The Brazil midfielder moved to Stamford Bridge for £19.8million from Benfica in 2010 and has made 81 appearances for the Blues, netting 11 times.
In March he agreed
a new five-year deal at Chelsea which will keep him at the club until 2017, but admits he still gets star-struck by some of his team-mates.
"They liked my performances here a lot and called me to sign a new contract, I am very happy at Chelsea," he told
TV Globo.
"Sometimes I am starting a game and see (Michael) Essien and (Frank) Lampard on the bench, it is a bit surprising but you cannot be scared."
Style
Despite being a regular in the Chelsea team this season, the 25-year-old hasn't played for Brazil since last summer's Copa America and is at a loss to explain his omission from the team.
"I am often asked if something happened between Mano Menezes (the Brazilian manager) and me and I always say nothing happened, at least not from me," he added.
"But sometimes you do not fit a certain style or he did not like how I played, but I am here and if I need to change my style to return to the national team I will."
And despite his international exile, Ramires is dreaming of lifting the World Cup on home soil in 2014.
"I want to tell my soon - 'Daddy won a World Cup playing in Brazil!' Or even if not in Brazil, it will be an achievement to win it."
