Radamel Falcao has sought to distance himself from reports suggesting he could be on his way out of Atletico Madrid after just one season in the Spanish capital.
The prolific Colombian striker joined Atletico from Porto last summer and netted 35 goals during his debut campaign with the Primera Liga outfit.
Twelve of those efforts helped to secure Europa League glory, but the club missed out on qualification for the UEFA Champions League.
Falcao insists he never considered his future to rest on the securing of a top-four finish and hopes he will be given the chance to help Atletico back into Europe's premier club competition next season.
He told
Sport: "I am enjoying the moment with Atletico Madrid, I can't waste that. Moreover, I have four more years on my contract and I am only thinking about this.
"I think I am experiencing a special moment in my sporting career. I have obtained objectives that I had been thinking about for a long time, but I have a greater desire to continue growing and conquering other projects or dreams."

Reports in Spain claim matters may be taken out of Falcao's hands, though, with it likely that failure to qualify for the Champions League will force the club to cash in on their prized assets.
A swap deal involving former fans' favourite Fernando Torres, who is now on the books at Chelsea, has been touted, but Falcao is confident general manager Miguel Angel Gil will find a way of keeping a promising squad intact.
He added: "Obviously Gil said there was a necessity to qualify for the Champions League due to the economic side of things, but the club is making efforts to maintain the squad and we will have to wait and see how the make-up of the team is resolved in the coming months."
