Premier League fixtures: Chelsea open the 2014/15 campaign away at Burnley
Wednesday 18 June 2014 11:07, UK
Title hopefuls Chelsea travel to Premier League new boys Burnley on the opening weekend of the 2014/15 campaign.
Jose Mourinho’s men will then face another side taking a step up into the big time when they host Leicester City in their first outing at Stamford Bridge.
A trip to the Etihad Stadium to face defending champions Manchester City awaits on September 20, before a tough run through October and November will see Chelsea entertain Arsenal and travel to Manchester United and Liverpool.
Derby rivalries will be rekindled on Boxing Day when West Ham United travel from east to west London, while 2015 is opened away at another capital foe in the form of Tottenham Hotspur.
Manchester City will be at the Bridge at the end of January, Manchester United on April 18 and Liverpool on May 9.
A return date with Arsenal arrives on April 25, with both sides hoping they will be very much in the title mix at that stage.
Three of Chelsea’s last four fixtures will be played on home soil, which could play into their hands as they chase down the top flight crown, with Sunderland last up on the final day – May 24.
Opening three games:
16/08/2014 Burnley v Chelsea
23/08/2014 Chelsea v Leicester City
30/08/2014 Everton v Chelsea
