HOULLIER NOT TO KOP BAGGIO

It is common knowledge that the Anfield outfit are woefully short of striking, talent with Robbie Fowler a long term casualty and Michael Owen unable to shake off a persistent hamstring problem.

The British tabloid quoted a source close to Baggio`s club, Inter Milan, as saying: "We are aware of interest in Roberto Baggio from a representative of Liverpool but there is no agreement in place at the present moment."

However Liverpool have said there is no substance to the report.

Baggio, 32, has found himself out of favour with coach Marcello Lippi in recent weeks, but he climbed off the bench to score Inter`s winner in a 2-1 victory at Verona on Sunday.

This was the former Italy international`s first appearance for over a month, and it remains to be seen as to whether he would be tempted by a short-term move to the Premiership or fight for a place at the San Siro.
