Argentine remains hopeful on top four spot

Liverpool winger Maxi Rodriguez is refusing to give up on his side's chance of finishing in the top four. The Reds slipped further behind the leading pack at the weekend after being held to a frustrating 1-1 draw at Birmingham. Manchester City are four points clear of Liverpool and have a game in hand over Rafa Benitez's side. However, Maxi believes City will drop points with Roberto Mancini's men still to play the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham before the end of the campaign. "We have to keep fighting for every point and believe we can still do it," Rodriguez told the club's official website. "I thought we were really unfortunate not to take the three points on Sunday but that's the way football is sometimes. "We have five league games left now and we need to win them all. It's vital we keep winning and we know what we have to do. The other teams can drop points and we have to believe they will."

Exit

Meanwhile, Reds youngster Vitor Flora has left the club to join Brazilian side Goias Esporte Clube. Flora, who joined Liverpool in the summer of 2008, failed to make an impact at Anfield and he has been allowed to return to his homeland.
