Reds boss keen to maintain high level of performance
Kenny Dalglish wants Liverpool to strive for consistency after bouncing back from their West Ham defeat to beat Manchester United on Sunday.
A week ago the Reds were humbled by lowly West Ham at Upton Park, but they avenged the loss in style by overcoming the league leaders.
Dirk Kuyt bagged a hat-trick as Liverpool secured a 3-1 success and Dalglish knows the result will count for nothing unless they can secure that level of performance on a regular basis.
Fantastic
"It is three points but it is not the end of the season for us just because we have had a fantastic result against a team leading the table," he said.
"If we play like that against any team we would be happy with the performance, and it shows you what the players can do and want to do.
"But you can never take away the disappointment of West Ham. We can use that as a reference point."
Dirk took the plaudits against the Red Devils for his hat-trick, although Dalglish felt it was all-around team display with every single member of his starting XI pulling their weight.
Singled out
The Reds tactician singled out January signing Luis Suarez for his role in the success after creating two of the goals for hero Kuyt at Anfield.
"You cannot carry anyone in a game against United, everyone has to play," he continued.
"Dirk rightly got the headlines for the hat-trick but Luis put in a fantastic performance.
"I have always believed that it is about people so you can have any formation you want, it is the players that make it.
"They were fantastic and it did not matter what formation they played, formation was irrelevant."
