Serbia boss Vladimir Petrovic has called for Milan Jovanovic to be given more opportunities at Liverpool.
The 29-year-old attacker arrived at Anfield last summer on a free transfer from Standard Liege, but made a slow start to his Reds career under Roy Hodgson.
He has fallen further down the pecking order since Kenny Dalglish took charge, making just two appearances for the new boss.
Jovanovic's lack of action with Liverpool has also affected his international career, with Petrovic not feeling that he can start with a player who is barely featuring at club level.
However, Jovanovic produced an impressive performance as a substitute on Friday night to inspire Serbia to a 2-1 victory over Northern Ireland.
And Petrovic has now pleaded with Liverpool to put more faith in the player.

He said: "I am not surprised by Milan. I know he is a player who can play at a very high standard.
"It is impossible that such a good player would forget how to play football.
"He is special and he had a special desire to play for us here.
"In the past he has been one of our best players and I think he deserves more chances (with Liverpool).
"If he gets chances he will soon be on the same level again."
Asked if Jovanovic should consider leaving Anfield in the summer, Petrovic was less forthcoming, adding: "Only he will answer whether he should leave or not. I don't want to speak about that."
