Ayr youngster to train with Burnley
Burnley are hoping to beat a host of clubs to the signing of Scottish starlet Mark Shankland,
skysports.com understands.
The Clarets are currently heading the chase and have arranged with Ayr United for the 16-year-old to train with them this week.
Shankland, who made his first-team debut before his 16th birthday, is the youngest player in Ayr's history and a host of clubs have been following him.
The teenager will now link up with the Clarets and will train with Eddie Howe's first team.
However, Burnley are not the only side looking to land Shankland, as Liverpool, Newcastle, Watford and Crystal Palace are also closely following him.
Old Firm duo Celtic and Rangers are also believed to be keen on taking a closer look at Shankland.
