Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere believes their final Premier League match of the season, against relegated Aston Villa on Sunday, will not be easy.

Villa, who will play in the Championship next season after a dreadful season, are 18 points behind 17th-placed Sunderland in the Premier League table.

However, after ending their losing streak with a gritty goalless draw against Newcastle United last weekend, Eric Black's side look as though they will at least go down fighting in the last game of the season at the Emirates.

A win over Villa would secure the Gunners a second-place finish ahead of north London rivals Tottenham if Spurs lose away to Newcastle.

Wilshere said: "We like to think we can win most of our home games. I don't know what happened to Aston Villa this season, but I don't expect them to come and just let us beat them."

The England international also reiterated his team's hopes of a top-three finish, which would secure Wenger's side automatic qualification for next season's Champions League.

Daily Mail chief sports writer Martin Samuel says a fit Jack Wilshere is too good to be left out of the England squad

"We said a few weeks back that we don't want to get fourth, we don't want to have to face a qualifier," he said.
