Bojinov aware of Arsenal interest
Lecce's hot property Valeri Bojinov is aware that Arsenal have been alerted to his precocious talents.
The 17-year-old has made the step up to Serie A football with comparative ease and was watched by Gunners scouts during the match against Lazio at the weekend.
Lecce coach Delio Rossi admits there is little he can do to prevent clubs from eyeing his young talent, but has warned the Bulgaria-born teenager, and the likes of Javier Chevanton, to maintain their focus on keeping the team in the top flight.
"I'm pleased that observers were there to see my players," commented Rossi. "But I think they must keep concentrating on Lecce and my job is to maintain their concentration because, if they are absent-minded, it is a risk.
"They must first achieve safety with Lecce.
"They are really young players and they must keep their feet on the ground. This kind of transfer talk can only turn the heads of my young players."
Bojinov has attracted interest from Internazionale and Lazio, but seemed pleased to hear that Arsenal joined the queue of clubs keeping tabs on his performances by sending two representatives to Via del Mare.
"I've been told that two Arsenal scouts have come to watch me," the fleet-footed forward told the Bulgarian media.
"I don't know about their impressions as nobody has contacted me yet.
"Anyway, it's almost certain that I will finish this season at Lecce.
"I don't think about the transfer prospects at the moment. The most important thing is to keep my form high."
