Nasri alerts English suitors

Samir Nasir has alerted Arsenal and other English clubs to his possible availability.

Samir Nasri has alerted Arsenal and other Premiership clubs to his possible availability by turning down a new contract at Marseille.

Although insisting he does not want to repeat Mathieu Flamini's actions last season, the young midfielder admits he has been unable to come to an agreement with l'OM over fresh terms.

Flamini pushed for a move to Highbury and the transfer eventually had to go the French authorities as Marseille demanded compensation for the midfielder.

"I haven't prolonged [my contract] so far," the 18-year-old playmaker said from the Aix-les-Bains training camp. "Because we didn't find any agreement with l'OM.

"We are at a standstill.

"They explained to us that, considering the club's present situation, the wages will be limited this season.

"My wish is to stay at Marseille.

"Anyway, I am still under contract and I am a little young to leave.

"I don't want to make a new Flamini case.

"But, so far, the Marseille proposals don't suit us."

Newcastle United, Liverpool and Chelsea are also aware of Nasri's outstanding potential but the schemer is under contract until 2007.
