Wenger praise for Diaby

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has compared Vassiriki Diaby to Patrick Vieira.

The 19-year-old Frenchman signed from Auxerre last month, but has settled quickly and built on an encouraging start to his Highbury career with another impressive display against Birmingham on Saturday.

Diaby has a style reminiscent of former Gunner Vieira, and is already being touted as the answer to Arsenal's lack of muscle in midfield.

Wenger is delighted with the way Diaby is performing, but insisted that it was too early to hype him up too much.

"There is some similarity between Vieira and Diaby," Wenger enthused.

"He is growing game to game but I always say you are a good player when you have played 150 games in The Premiership.

"At the moment he has played three. Each one has been better than the last but give him time, don't put too much pressure on him."
