Gunners boss admits that he feels terrible when he loses
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has responded to Damien Comolli's claims that the Frenchman used to feel physically sick after a defeat.
Tottenham's sporting director Comolli, a former European scout at Arsenal, stated that Wenger was unable to eat after a loss.
The Gunners chief explained that feeling pain after defeat is the norm in football, and believes if you are not emotionally attached to the game then you will not succeed as a manager.
"I read Comolli said that I take defeat in a bad way. But how else can you take it?" he revealed in a press conference.
Pain
"You shouldn't be in this job unless it really hurts to lose. If it does not hurt, then you will never survive management.
"I admit I am never in good health after losing and my emotions are linked with my health.
"Sometimes there are periods when I can hide those emotions quite well. Other times less well.
"Somebody said that every victory slides over you and every defeat stays with you. I agree."
Expectations
Wenger admitted that being in charge of a successful club with high expectations makes failure even harder to take.
"I always feel terrible when I lose games because every defeat at this club is a crisis," he added.
"No matter what you have achieved in the past, you always feel you could have done more."
