Gunners boss believes in club's bright talent
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is backing teenager starlet Jack Wilshere to be a 'great' player if he maintains his upward curve.
The 18-year-old is regarded as one of the country's brightest up and coming talents having made a big impression with the Gunners.
However, his exploits were lost on Manchester City man Mario Balotelli, who had not heard of the Arsenal youngster after being awarded with the Tuttosport Golden Boy trophy for the best young footballing talent in Europe - Wilshere finished second.
Wenger refused to be drawn on the Italian youngster's comments, especially as Wilshere conducted himself with dignity after brushing off the remark.
Arsenal's French manager is delighted with Wilshere's progress and thinks that with the right attitude he will go a long way in the game.
Comment
"I don't know what he [Balotelli] said and it is difficult to comment on every comment," he told the club's
official website.
"I just feel Jack Wilshere will be a great player.
"At the moment he is just starting his career so you have to let him work, progress, improve and confirm all the potential I see in him.
"If he keeps the right attitude, that will come out."
