Gunners midfielder pleased to be linking up with England
Arsenal winger Theo Walcott insists his side's 4-4 draw with Newcastle at the weekend was a gained point.
The Gunners looked home and hosed after going 4-0 up at St James' Park but came undone following Abou Diaby's red card.
Arsene Wenger's men threw away a huge lead although praise must go to the Magpies who launched a superb comeback.
Premier League leaders Manchester United dropped points following their shock defeat to Wolves in the late kick-off on Saturday, meaning Arsenal trail the Red Devils by four points at the top of the table.
Walcott will now link up with the England squad ahead of their friendly with Denmark on Wednesday.
The 21-year-old attacker admits he is pleased to be able to concentrate on the Three Lions after such a shock result, but claims it is easier to take following United's slip-up.
"After a disappointing result, it's nice to have a break from club level," he said.
"However, Wolves did us a right favour so it's a gained point.
"It was a great game for the neutral to watch, but it wasn't nice to be part of, especially in that second half."
Arsenal's next game in the league is a clash with Wolves at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.
