New Arsenal signing raring to go ahead of Rovers game

Arsenal new boy Gervinho says he cannot wait to get back to Premier League action after completing a three-match ban. The Ivorian winger picked up the suspension on his Gunners debut at Newcastle when he was handed a straight red card for slapping Joey Barton after an altercation in the Magpies' penalty area. Gervinho, a summer signing from Lille, is itching to return for Arsenal's trip to Blackburn on Saturday and is also looking forward to making his first league appearance at Emirates Stadium, with the visit of Bolton lined up the following week.

Annoyed

"It has been a stop and start season for me," he told skysports.com. "I took the red card and I am annoyed with myself. "I have not played in the Premier League at home so far so thank God the waiting is over. "I am looking forward to my return this weekend." Gervinho ran out for Arsenal in Tuesday night's 1-1 UEFA Champions League draw at Borussia Dortmund, during which a late equaliser from substitute Ivan Perisic denied the Gunners a win. The winger was disappointed to concede so late on but feels his side did well to take a point from the clash. He added: "In the Champions League we did very well by returning from Germany with a draw. "Dortmund are a very good team but to concede three minutes from the end was like losing the game. "In the Champions League if you can win at home, the draw away is priceless." The Ivorian says Arsenal have now turned their attention back to domestic action and catching up with the early pacesetters.
Focus
"Now our focus is on the league. We need to keep track of the leaders," he said. "We have to win over the weekend and hope Chelsea and Manchester United drop points meeting each other." Gervinho is starting to adapt to life in England with the help of his new team-mates, as well as Chelsea striker and compatriot Salomon Kalou. He added: "I am settling well. It is not easy when you are new to a country but I have friends here. My friend Salomon Kalou has been helping me settle as well as my Arsenal team-mates."
