Arsenal ace Gervinho admits he is over the disappointment of being sent off on his Premier League debut.
The Ivorian winger picked up the suspension on his Gunners debut at Newcastle when he was handed a straight red card for slapping Joey Barton after an altercation in the Magpies' penalty area.
Gervinho was forced to miss three games as a result of the dismissal and he admits it was hard at the time to accept.
However, the 24-year-old claims he has put the incident behind him and is focused on the future.
Big disappointment
"It was a big disappointment for me, of course, with the red card," Gervinho told the club's
official website.
"The Newcastle players accused me of diving, but if you look at the replay and pictures, there was a slight foul.
"After the actual decision, I was very disappointed and it was hard at the time to take, but since then, I have put it to one side and am just focusing on the future."
Challenge
The summer signing from Lille insists he is enjoying the challenge of playing for Arsenal.
"I'm really enjoying it here, my great passion is being here at Arsenal," added Gervinho
"It's a new challenge and the settling in has brought a few difficulties, but I've got some French-speaking friends, which has helped. It's gone really well and I'm feeling fine."
