Arsenal boss believes the issue is not widespread in sport
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is confident there is not a widespread issue with racism in sport.
The Football Association is currently investigating claims Chelsea captain John Terry racially abused QPR defender Anton Ferdinand during last Sunday's Premier League match at Loftus Road.
The England skipper categorically denies the claims and welcomed the FA enquiry as he believes it will clear his name.
And speaking in general terms, while Wenger believes racism has largely been eradicated from sport, he feels there is still work to be done in society in general.
"You want to fight against it. I never could understand racism," he said.

"There are some cultural reflexes that you still have to fight against it."
Wenger added: "I do not think that in sport racism is basically a problem because you are rewarded on merit.
"However, in society I still think there is some job to do, and we are not at the end of it.
"But in sport overall, I don't think it is a problem."
Terry is set to return to the Chelsea side for the Saturday lunchtime clash against Arsenal, live on
Sky Sports 2, after sitting out the midweek Carling Cup win at Everton.
