ALEXANDERSSON CLOSE TO COMEBACK

EVERTON'S Swedish midfielder Niclas Alexandersson is ready to make his return following a succession of injuries, the latest being one to his leg.

The Swedish international has only played 11 matches this season because of repeated injuries.

Speaking to Swedish daily DN, Alexandersson said: "The side is not selected yet, but there are some things which indicate that I will get to play.

"Hopefully, I can remain healthy during the finish. It would be nice to get to play all remaining matches," admitted Niclas Alexandersson to Swedish daily DN.

Everton have been plagued by injuries this season, something Alexandersson agreed with: "It is horrible how many injuries we have had.

"Now, there haven't been so many matches lately and we have got quite a few players back, but then a couple of guys got injured during the practice," sighed the midfielder.

The Toffeemen are six points above the relegation zone and Alexandersson believes a maximum of 12 points will see them safe.

He said: "We need three, four wins in the last matches to be completely sure to stay up. That we should manage."
