Marouane Fellaini believes he is now back to his best and is raring to fire Everton up the table.
Record signing on form after virus and tooth operation
Everton midfielder Marouane Fellaini believes he is now back to his best and is raring to fire the Toffees up the league.
The £15million club-record signing from Standard Liege lost more than half a stone with a viral infection earlier this season, while he also had to withdraw from the Belgium national side to have his wisdom teeth removed.
But the 22-year-old feels hard work has ensured he has returned to top form, with Everton boss David Moyes believing the Belgian is currently the best midfielder in the Premier League.
Fellaini told
The Sun: "At the start of the season the team was not playing too good, while I wasn't well.
Quite nasty
"I caught a virus in my teeth which spread into my blood and the rest of my system, it really was quite nasty.
"It has been very hard work to get back but I feel I have returned to my top form now.
"I always think it's up to others to say how you are playing. But I feel I have adapted and am playing well."
Everton next take on in-form Manchester City on Saturday and Fellaini knows the Toffees face a tough test.
He added: "We're going to have to raise our game, that's for sure!
"We'll have to play well to match them but we are at home, with our fans behind us, so we will see."
