Real Madrid midfielder in talks over move to Goodison
Sky Sports sources understand that Everton are to hold talks with Real Madrid midfielder Royston Drenthe over a possible transfer.
The versatile Dutchman, who can also play in defence and is known for his lightning pace, joined Real from Feyenoord in 2007.
He has struggled to hold down a regular place in the side and was loaned out to Hercules last season.
However, the 24-year-old is still held in high regard and it is believed that Everton are hopeful of pushing through a deal before Wednesday's 11pm deadline.
Reports suggest the move would be an initial season-long loan agreement.
David Moyes will be especially eager to finalise a swoop for Drenthe if he loses Mikel Arteta to Arsenal, with it understood that a cash offer in the region of £10million has been made.
