Dutch international seeks a new challenge in the Premier League

Everton's new signing Royston Drenthe believes he has the combative skills to be a success in the Premier League this season. The 24-year-old joined the Toffees on a season-long loan from Real Madrid on Wednesday, as Mikel Arteta exited Goodison Park in a £10million deal to Arsenal. Drenthe has found his opportunities limited under Jose Mourinho and was dispatched on loan last term to Hercules. He now has just12 months left on his deal and would hope his temporary switch will enable him rediscover the form that convinced Madrid to pay 14million euros for him in 2007.

Qualities

"I think my qualities are English qualities, the way I play football," he told Everton's official website. "I have technique and like to work hard. I think this competition is a perfect competition for me. "The Spanish league was a good league but different. It is not as fast, it is slow. "Here it goes fast and I think that is more my style of play."
