Everton's stand-in left-back Sylvain Distin has revealed he is thriving in his unfamiliar role as he deputises for the injured Leighton Baines.
Distin earned the praise of Everton boss David Moyes for the quality of his display against Stoke in the 1-1 draw on Tuesday evening.
The Toffees are now unbeaten in their last three games and the Frenchman has undoubtedly played his part as he revels in his new position.

"To be honest, I do enjoy it, surprisingly," he told
evertontv. "I thought it would be really difficult but I feel like I've adapted quite well.
"It's a new job for me. I think the last time I played left-back was something like six or eight years ago. And I was a lot skinnier at the time!
"It's a lot of running but I'm getting used to it. The lads make it easier for me as well and I speak a bit with Bainesy to get some tips from him."
The 34-year-old initially began his career as a left-back but for the best part of the last decade his ability to read the game and athleticism have seen him regarded as one of the best centre-halves in the league.
Indeed, the quality of his performances has surprised the former Manchester City and Portsmouth defender, although he accepts his attacking instincts do not quite match up to Baines'.
He added: "I didn't expect to do as well as him because he's an amazing player. I give my best and that's it.
"Obviously I know I'm not going to go forward as much as Bainesy but, as I say, I'll just do my best."
