Croatian thinks Everton 'killed' Manchester United

Nikica Jelavic believes all the signs for the new season are positive after Everton 'killed' Manchester United. The Croatian started Monday night's impressive victory over Sir Alex Ferguson's side and the 1-0 scoreline could have been more emphatic had it not been for David de Gea. United's goalkeeper saved his team on several occasions before he was eventually beaten by Marouane Fellaini's header as Everton recorded a deserved three points. Pundits have been predicting a positive season for David Moyes' Toffees on the back of the win, which has given them momentum to avoid a typically slow start to the season. And striker Jelavic agrees, as he told Croatian newspaper Vecernji. "We can aim high, not only because of this victory but because we have a really good team. "We are like one big family and we also signed some great players this summer. You could all see at the United game that we are really strong this season. "Manchester United are strong but we killed them. David de Gea saved them. We could have really destroyed them. We can be really optimistic."
