Diouf accused by De Zeeuw

El Hadji Diouf has been accused of spitting at Arjan De Zeeuw.

El Hadji Diouf has been accused of spitting at Portsmouth defender Arjan De Zeeuw during Bolton Wanderers' 1-0 defeat at The Reebok Stadium.

Pompey, whose manager Harry Redknapp departed this week, secured a valuable away success thanks to De Zeeuw's header but much of the post-match talk focused on the former Barnsley man's accusation against Diouf.

"Yeah, I felt it," De Zeeuw told Sky Sports News.

"It was right in my face.

"I'm hoping it was just heat of the moment stuff because it's not behaviour that's suitable on the football pitch."

Trotters boss Sam Allardyce pledged to punish Diouf if video evidence proves conclusive.

"I haven't seen it but of course, if he has, I'll have a look at the video and, if that's the case, I'll sort it out," Allardyce stressed afterwards.

The Senegal striker was embroiled in a spitting row with Celtic supporters during his time with parent club Liverpool.
