Allardyce thinks Burnley should have kept Coyle
Blackburn boss Sam Allardyce does not feel that Burnley fought hard enough to keep Owen Coyle.
Coyle is set to take charge on at Bolton after confirming his desire to leave Turf Moor and Allardyce does not feel that the Clarets did enough to stop the Scot agreeing to move to his former club.
"I think it's a big loss for Burnley," said Allardyce, who enjoyed an eight-year stint at the Reebok Stadium.
"They should have broken the bank to keep him because he has shown to be single-handedly, the key, most important person at Burnley for many, many years.
"They should have gone a lot farther to try and keep him.
"Bolton have got themselves a very good young manager if that gets sorted out over the next few days."
Stoke manager Tony Pulis, who takes his team to Burnley on Saturday, feels Coyle has made the right decision for himself.
"Owen has got to do what Owen has got to do," Pulis told
Sky Sports News.
"Managers have decisions to make and Owen has made that decision and I am sure everyone at Burnley will be disappointed."
