Slovakian starlet hoping Trotters can do City a favour
Vladimir Weiss is hoping to play a part in helping parent club Manchester City into the UEFA Champions League.
The Slovakian winger is currently on loan at Bolton Wanderers, where he is set to see out the season.
However, he could yet have a major say in the race for fourth place, with the Trotters set to face Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane on Saturday.
Victory for Owen Coyle's men in the capital would allow City to clamber back into fourth if they can see off fellow hopefuls Aston Villa at Eastlands.
Weiss is determined to do all he can to hand the Blues an advantage, especially as they are set to face Spurs in a make-or-break encounter on Wednesday.
Incredible
"I'm going to do my best for both clubs - and hope I can help City in some way," said the 20-year-old forward.
"I'm at Bolton right now so I need to focus on them. But it would be great if I could help Bolton achieve a result that will also help City.
"It would be incredible if I scored a goal that helped City qualify for Champions League football next season.
"The lads at City have been texting me and they all want me to do well against Spurs.
"This game will be especially tough, as they are playing so well. But we've got good players who can cause them problems.
"Then I'll be in the crowd on Wednesday for one of City's, and the Premier League's, biggest games for a while. I'm looking forward to that."
Exciting
Weiss is also hoping that City can qualify for the Champions League as he harbours ambitions to gracing the competition next season following the end of his loan spell at the Reebok Stadium.
He said: "My aim for the future is to be a City player who is regularly playing in the Champions League.
"I love City and would like to stay there for many years - and next season could be very exciting. So if I can help Bolton beat Spurs, I will - you can be certain of that.
"City will need a bigger squad if they are playing in Europe and they will also be looking for some players who've come through the academy."
