Martin Petrov was delighted to open his account for Bolton against Manchester United, but was disappointed they did not claim all three points.
The former Manchester City winger put Bolton ahead for a second time at the Reebok Stadium on Sunday, although Michael Owen's deft header secured a share of the spoils.
The 31-year-old played a key role in Bolton's performance with a goal and an assist, although he was not getting carried away as the Trotters failed to finish off the title challengers.
Petrov felt Bolton more than deserved their 2-2 draw and he believes that if they maintain that level of performance between now and the end of the campaign then they will enjoy a fine season.
Mixed emotions
"Personally, to score and get an assist against Manchester United makes me very happy," he told the club's
official website.
"But at the end of the day, it's all for the team and that's what we'll all continue to do; work hard towards the team's cause.
"It was a well-deserved point, but we are still disappointed because we feel we had a chance to win the game. Even when the score was 2-2, we had two or three good chances to take the lead again.
"We deserved the point, but it could have easily been three. If we continue to play like we did on Sunday, I think we will do very well this season.
"I've been staying behind in training and working extra hard. You can never do too much work and I've been working hard.
"I'm very happy here at Bolton Wanderers and I hope that continues. I want to show everyone here what I can do and I want to continue to play like I did against Manchester United."
